David Buursma, DPT, FAFS
Dave’s path to becoming a physical therapist began non-traditionally with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English from Calvin College in 2004. After working in a variety of marketing positions, he decided to return to graduate school to pursue an interest in physical therapy, graduating from GVSU with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009. He has continued to pursue his education through the Gray Institute’s Fellowship of Applied Functional Science and was awarded his FAFS in 2012.
Dave states that he finds “happiness in almost any outdoor activity but really enjoy running on new trails, hiking, snowshoeing, cycling, skiing, and mountain biking.”
On the back of his business card reads, “i’m motivating” because, as he puts it, “it is my personal aim to motivate individuals to reach their goals.” I’ve been inspired by this quote from Steve Maraboli, “An inch of movement will bring you closer to your goals than a mile of intention.”
