Robyn Smith, MSPT, SCS, CGFI-Med Level 2
Robyn has worked in outpatient orthopedic and Sports Medicine rehabilitation since 1998. Robyn opened her own performance and rehab company in June 2016, Elite Golf and Running Performance. She also concurrently works at i’move in Rockford, MI, where her responsibilities include direct patient care as well as clinical management.
Her focus in her clinical hours includes working with athletes at all levels of competition, especially focusing on the foot and ankle as well as golf and running biomechanics. She has had the opportunity to work with recreational and competitive runners from the middle school to Olympic level.
Robyn has been a consultant for Merrill footwear, and has provided educational seminars in running, golfing and triathlete injury prevention. Robyn has lectured nationally and internationally on topics including ACL injury prevention, foot and ankle mechanics, running mechanics and injury prevention. She has lectured for NAMSI since 2005 on topics of the knee and shoulder and Selective Functional Movement Assessment. She has been a lab instructor at Grand Valley State University in multiple orthopedic classes and guest lectured for the Athletic Training program. She is currently a lab assistant for “When the foot hits the ground everything changes” CE course. Robyn received the Emerging Leader award from the APTA in 2007. She has co-authored a book chapter on The Physically Active Female and SPTS home study course Spine injuries in Sports.
